ALTEC releases NEW VERSION 2.0 THICKNESS QUALITY MONITORING SYSTEM

The version 2.0 system is the most versatile and accurate system available on the market today. All data is stored in a 64-bit fully scalable SQL Databse. This includes the raw laser sensor data that is streamed into the database in real-time. Power users and client applications can connect to the database remotely to run their own custom queries and reports.

The new systems also include control of the Knife Pitch further making the systems more accurate, stiffer and giving the best precision control possible.

ALTEC PROVIDES TRAY CONTROLS FOR TROUBLED MILLS.
Altec has recently provided two tray control systems into mills requiring an open platform, non Black Box control and an accessable program format. The Altec system allows the customer to take ownership of their own system and customize the program to meet their own particular requirements.

THE ALTEC ACTUATOR GAINS MOMENTUM.
Two more electric actuator systems have been installed onto high throughput lathes. Roseburg Forest Products, Coquille, has installed Carriage and Bar Gap systems, Coastland Wood Industries has installed Carriage actuators. In both cases a marked improvement in veneer quality was instantly realised.
"The reduction in maintenance alone makes the units worth the price" quoted one maintenamce super.

ALTEC ELECTRIC ACTUATORS HIT THE MARKET RUNNING - Further to our news release last month Altec is pleased to announce the successful installation of Altec Electric Linear Actuators for the carriage and bar gap and a complete Lathe Control system at Roseburg Forest Products in Riddle, Oregon. The electric actuators combined with the new controls are providing greatly improved veneer thickness and veneer quality along with improved production and recovery. Roseburg is also realizing additional benefits inherent with the application of electric actuators such as greatly reduced maintenance and power savings.

ALTEC XY SCANNER AND LATHE CONTROLS IMPROVE PERFORMANCE - August 2010 ALTEC introduces the Altec Servo Electric Linear Actuator and controls package technology to the veneer industry on Carriage drives and other Green End applications.( see Carriage pdf in Wood Industry section )

Altec is pleased to announce the installation, commissioning of our XY Scanner and Lathe Controls at Freres Lumber - Salem, Oregon and the subsequent return to full production of the green end line. Freres decided to replace the existing problematic scanner and control system and are now enjoying increased recovery, production and quality as a result of the upgrade.
